The University of Wyoming’s Service, Leadership and Community Engagement (SLCE) office is collaborating with United Way of Albany County to support Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Day of Service Monday, Jan. 17.
The volunteer service day is open to both the UW campus and Laramie communities.
According to United Way of Albany County, MLK Day of Service is meant to be “a day on, not a day off.” The service day is to help create a “stronger and more resilient community that makes everyone feel welcome.”
To learn more about volunteer and donation opportunities across Laramie, go to United Way of Albany County’s volunteer opportunities webpage here. For a list of remote volunteer opportunities, go to the SLCE volunteer opportunities webpage here.
Donations will be accepted at the Wyoming Union information desk from Jan. 18-21, and bins also will be in place in the Wyoming Union’s east vestibule Monday, Jan. 17. A detailed list of items that can be donated is on United Way of Albany County’s volunteer opportunities webpage.
