The University of Wyoming’s Research and Economic Development Division (REDD) is continuing its efforts to update its administrative processes through ROAMWyo, UW’s first electronic research administration platform.
REDD already has launched several modules: Proposals (S2S), Sponsored Projects, Outside Interests and Animal Oversight. The ROAMWyo Human Ethics module is close to release.
Human Ethics will serve as UW’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocol management and submission system. Researchers who perform human subjects research will access their current projects, view upcoming tasks and deadlines, submit new research proposals and respond to IRB recommendations -- all in one convenient dashboard.
“We hope that research personnel will find Human Ethics to be simple, organized and intuitive, allowing the IRB and REDD to better assist our researchers,” says Carolyn Brandt, director of research integrity and compliance.
The new Human Ethics module will launch Jan. 8, 2024. Researchers who perform human subjects research should subscribe to the REDD listserv for updates, Brandt adds. Training materials and information on the transition will be available later.
