UW Libraries Resumes Prospector Service

After a successful migration to a new library management system, University of Wyoming Libraries has resumed the Prospector service.

Prospector is a multilibrary service that allows UW students, faculty and staff to borrow books and other materials from participating libraries under common loan rules. The service consists of nearly 200 academic, public and special libraries in Colorado and Wyoming. It provides access to more than 30 million books, journals, DVDs, CDs and other materials.

“We are thrilled to have our popular Prospector service back online,” says Paula Martin, UW Libraries interim associate dean and assistant dean of user services. “Our Interlibrary Loan team really bridged the gap to help us continue to serve our patrons, and we appreciate everyone’s patience during the migration.”

In addition to Prospector, UW Libraries also manages Interlibrary Loan, which is another service that UW students, faculty and staff can use to borrow materials from libraries worldwide.
