UW Faculty Members to Present International Research in Centennial Aug. 14
Published August 07, 2025
Two University of Wyoming adjunct faculty members will present research during “Bridging Global Gaps: Faculty International Research” as part of the Centennial Speaker Series Thursday, Aug. 14, from 4:30-6 p.m. in the Centennial Library, located at 27 Second St. in Centennial.
The speaker series, hosted by UW’s Center for Global Studies (CGS) and the Centennial Library, brings international concerns and discussions to the southeast Wyoming community.
Tanja Börzel and Thomas Risse will present “Global Change in the Time of Trump.” According to a summary of the discussion from Risse, the first six months of the second Trump administration have led to major disruptions in world affairs. The global economy roils with uncertainty; and the U.S. has withdrawn from major international institutions and agreements. Meanwhile, hostilities in Ukraine and Gaza continue. This talk focuses on the impacts of President Donald Trump’s foreign policy, particularly on Europe, the Middle East and the international economy.
Börzel and Risse are faculty with the Freie Universität Berlin and adjunct faculty members at UW. The two have been running the final Centennial Speaker Series talk of each summer for several years and are well-respected members of the Centennial community.
A barbecue will follow the presentation. All are welcome.
