Wyoming Dementia Together (WDT), a statewide nonprofit caregiver network offered through
the University of Wyoming Center on Aging, will host a discussion for caregivers of
loved ones living with dementia Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 10:30 a.m.
The program, “The Three D’s: Dementia, Delirium, Depression,” will be presented by
Dr. Katherine Kitchen Andren, a neuropsychologist specializing in the diagnosis of
Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias at the University of Utah.
“These three D’s are very much related, and it’s beneficial for the caregiver to recognize
and become familiar with each,” Andren says. “We’ll be discussing practical strategies
for dealing with each of these conditions.”
WDT meets by Zoom call every other Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Mountain Time throughout
the year. Programs feature a guest speaker and allow time for interaction from those
who attend online. Pre-registration is required; the Zoom link to the program is provided
by email.
For information regarding registration for these online Zoom calls and the other free
services offered by WDT, call UW’s Wyoming Center on Aging at (307) 766-2829 or email
wycoa@uwyo.edu.
The WDT support staff includes dementia care professionals, licensed clinical social
workers, physical and occupational therapists, and caregivers themselves. WDT began
meeting in the fall of 2020 and has since been offering online programming help every
other Wednesday.
Future WDT program topics will feature “Managing Finances in Dementia Care: Support
for Caregivers and Loved Ones,” Oct. 7, and “Living Well with Dementia: Using Technology
to Stay Active and Connected,” Oct. 21.
