*A three-year participant testimonial in weekly programs of Wyoming Dementia Together:

Thank you for the education, inspiration, and ideas I have learned as a Care Partner in the journey of a family member with Dementia. I recommend the program continue so it can help others around the state as much as it has helped me and my family.  I have learned the meaning of the word "advocate," which I had never used before.  I was encouraged to know that we don't have to stay with the same doctors we have had for 20 years.  If we are not satisfied with the care we are receiving from one, we should not be afraid to change to different services, to "advocate" strongly for ourselves and others.  The sessions with large viewing audiences convince me  that I am not alone in this path, and there are others around the state willing to share their questions, answers, and suggestions, through both smiles, tears, and always compassion and courage.  Topics are timely.  Because of what I have learned from the topics about financial planning, we have recently revised our wills, our medical powers of attorney, our list of instructions to survivors. Because of the insights and confidence gained from the WDT sessions,  we are not afraid to tackle these subjects with our adult kids.  Also, because of the sessions, we have learned about  the importance of early and correct diagnosis, the importance of having good doctors, and how to look for expertise in neurologists and other specialists. We have learned  how to recognize different kinds of dementia and symptoms, and how to ask questions about medications and tests.   Thank you for this knowledge you have generously shared.
