Oil City News reported that the 2023 Wyoming Healthy Aging Data Report was created by researchers at the Gerontology Institute of the University of Massachusetts-Boston in partnership with the Wyoming Healthy Aging Coalition and coordinated by UW Professor Emerita Virginia Vincenti. The Casper Star-Tribune published a similar article.

UW hosted the sixth annual Wyoming Blockchain Stampede and Wyobuildathon last week. The event featured several activities, including the second year of a “Shark Tank”-like simulation with real prize money, headed by Steve Lupien, director of UW’s Center for Blockchain and Digital Innovation, according to The Laramie Boomerang.

Wyoming News Now reported that the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) has partnered with the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board and UW to launch a new professional development (PD) portal. The WYO Education PD Portal will allow educators to remain on the cutting edge of teaching best practices by streamlining access for all, according to a WDE release published by Sheridan Media.

A Community Gaming Day last week provided a fun and noncompetitive gaming experience for the local Laramie and UW communities. The event, which was part of the Wyoming Blockchain Stampede at UW, featured a variety of esports games and pop-up tournaments based on participant interest. Game Is Hard published UW’s release.

Sheridan Media published UW’s release announcing that Wyoming APEX Accelerator, part of the Wyoming Small Business Development Center Network housed at UW, will host a webinar this week for small-business owners to learn how to do business with the federal government and large federal contractors.

Wyoming residents want continued leadership and more information regarding energy and expanding energy industries, according to a new study from UW’s School of Energy Resources (SER). SER collaborated with the Ruckelshaus Institute of Environment and Natural Resources on the study, which is a replication of a 2020 study. County 17 used UW’s release for an article on the study. Oil City News published County 17’s article.

Cap City News noted that Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Services’ outpatient clinic has been recognized as an Age-Friendly Health System. Health care organizations that have received the recognition have shown that they are implementing evidence-based practices designed to improve care for older adults.
