From fall 1999 through spring 2016 UW official counts used end of semester student counts. Prior to fall 1999 and starting fall 2016 UW uses beginning of semester student counts.
Prior to 2008, there was no consistent way to identify professional development students, whose credits cannot be used towards a degree. Per federal guidelines, such students will no longer be included in federal student headcounts or national publications. UW totals will continue to include all students. Beginning in fall 2018 professional development students will no longer be included in reports.
