The Big Horn Basin - As of January 1, 2017 the Big Horn Basin had produced more than
3.4 billion barrels of oil (equivalent). The Big Horn Basin contains some of the most
prolific petroleum systems in Wyoming. Basin analyses have been performed previously,
however, key components of these systems were either not performed or omitted from
resulting publications. This project is currently being funded through internal university
sources only and needs external funding in order to continue past this coming academic
year. |
The Wind River Basin - As of January 1, 2017 the Wind River Basin had produced more
than 1.6 billion barrels of oil (equivalent). This basin, most probably, contains
significant additional reserves. A full Petroleum Systems Model could reveal where
these reserves may exist, particularly with regard to unconventional reservoirs.\n\nThis
project is currently not funded, and, therefore, not underway. |
The Green River Basin - As of January 1, 2017 the Green River Basin had produced more
than 6.1 billion barrels of oil (equivalent). This basin is one of the most prolific
producers in Wyoming. Basin analysis would help to identify where remaining production
could be located.\n\nThis project is currently not funded, and, therefore, not underway. |
The Great Divide Basin - The production in the Great Divide Basin is included in the
value for the Greater Green River Basin. This basin contains some of the most prolific
petroleum systems in Wyoming. Basin analysis have been performed previously.\n\nThis
project is currently not funded, and, therefore, not underway. |
The Washakie Basin - The production in the Washakie Basin is included in the value
for the Greater Green River Basin. This basin contains additional reserves that could
be revealed through a full basin analysis.\n\nThis project is currently not funded,
and, therefore, not underway. |
The Laramie Basin - The production in the Laramie Basin is small compared to other
basins, only 8 MMBO and 4.6 BCF. This basin contains additional reserves that could
be revealed through a full basin analysis. This project is currently not funded, and,
therefore, not underway. |
The Powder River Basin - As of January 1, 2017 the Powder River Basin had produced
more than 4.8 billion barrels of oil (equivalent). This basin is one of Wyoming's
best producing areas. A full basin analysis would help to reveal the potential on
multiple stratigraphic units, both conventional and unconventional reservoirs.\n\nThis
project is currently not funded, and, therefore, not underway. |
