Ed Seidel is the 28th President of the University of Wyoming, a role he began on July
1, 2020. He is a distinguished academic known internationally for scientific excellence,
bold vision and dynamic and collegial leadership with a track record of advancing
scientific research, technology development and economic progress at the university,
state, and national levels. Ed has leveraged that experience to provide steady leadership
during the Covid-19 pandemic, and a vision for excellence moving UW forward. His
vision for institutional excellence includes programs designed to enhance student
success, broaden UW’s service to the state, and ensure the long-term financial stability

Beginning in fiscal year 2023, the President’s office will reserve funds annually to provide startup awards to recruit leading faculty to the University of Wyoming. These faculty will be recognized in that year as the President’s Distinguished Faculty. Please visit the eligibility page to learn more.
The UW Research Excellence Fund is designed to provide current faculty with financial support to conduct research and scholarly activities in line
