Aug 31 - Sep 2, 2026 at the UW Conference Center Laramie, WY
The Mountain West AI & HPC Summit is a three-day technology conference co-hosted by
the University of Wyoming, NVIDIA, and the NSF ASCEND Engine in Colorado and Wyoming.
The summit brings together faculty, researchers, students, AI developers, and technology
leaders from across the Mountain West to advance collaboration and innovation in Artificial
Intelligence (AI) and High-Performance Computing (HPC).
AI is transforming how we conduct research, how we educate students and how we prepare
workforce for AI-enabled industry. The conference explores the development and applications
of AI, HPC, and emerging technologies across a variety of application domains. Summit
activities include keynote presentations, hands-on AI development sessions, panel
discussions, and technical presentations.
The hands-on sessions, hosted by NVIDIA, focus on GPU computing skills, performance
profiling, and AI model development. These sessions will provide faculty, researchers,
students, start-ups, and industry developers with an in-depth look at the HPC and
AI development ecosystem.
Concurrent tracks of panels and presentations will explore topics including GPU computing
skills and profiling, applied AI, emerging technologies such as quantum computing,
edge AI and edge computing, atmospheric science, and transportation. The summit will
