Baker Hughes Rig Counts
Baker Hughes reports the following rig counts actively exploring for oil or natural gas.
- U.S. rig count is down 9 rigs from last week to 1,038 rigs, with oil down 10 and gas
rigs up 1 to 195
- The U.S. rig count is up 57 rigs from last year’s count of 981, with oil rigs up 43
and gas rigs up 14
- The Wyoming rig count has gone down to 36
- Colorado’s rig count remains at 34
- New Mexico is down 1 from last week to 107
- North Dakota is down 1 from last week to 56
- Texas has gone down to 503
Opening Prices from Bloomberg Energy on March 1
- West Texas Intermediate (WTI) opened at $57.22, up from last weeks $56.84
- Brent Crude opened at $66.48, down from last week
- Natural gas opened at $2.81, slightly more than last weeks $2.70
U.S. Energy Information Administration
- The EIA expects stable US biofuel production, consumption and trade through 2020 based
