The School of Energy Resources is pleased to welcome Peighton Hayes as the Special Events Coordinator.
Originally from Cheyenne, Hayes earned a B.S. in Family and Consumer Science from the University of Wyoming in 2020. Her degree had significant overlap with the interdisciplinary program at SER, and she has a working knowledge of many of the research programs at SER.
With a keen eye and attention to detail, Hayes has masterful experience in project management, working as an interior designer in the Jackson Hole area and southeast Wyoming. She has also worked as a licensed real estate agent. Through her experience, she has organized large-scale events, showings, open houses, and scheduled construction teams and vendors on a strict timeline.
In her new role, she will be responsible for coordinating logistics for all major events, provide speaker support, and will bridge the outreach demands for both the academic program and the research program at SER.
“Peighton is so capable and has been able to step into this new and much needed position, making an immediate impact,” says SER Director of Outreach Christine Reed. “SER has grown significantly over the past few years, and that has resulted in corresponding growth to our outreach and events, showcasing our research, and engaging with the community. We are thrilled to have her on board to facilitate our efforts to provide conferences, bring in quality speakers, and arrange in-community events.”
In addition to her impressive skillset, Hayes is deeply rooted in the local community, university, and the state. She hopes to continue making a difference by supporting SER’s important outreach pillar.
“I’m excited to be working at the School of Energy Resources and contributing to such a broad array of outreach and educational events,” says Hayes. “I’ve been continually impressed with the diversity of activities that SER offers to reach students, stakeholders, and members of the public throughout the state. I am really looking forward to working with everyone at SER to arrange events and to make sure that attendees have the best experience possible.”
