UW Energy Resources Council to Hold Special Meeting Oct. 24

The University of Wyoming Energy Resources Council (ERC) will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, virtually for a special session to hear a grant funding proposal through the Wyoming Energy Authority (WEA).

Grant funding is authorized by the ERC. The WEA prepares and presents a recommendation for consideration from the review panel first to ERC’s Exception Committee. The Exception Committee’s recommendations then are forwarded to the full ERC for initial approval of the grant recipients, funding sources and amount of the awards.

The initial approval is then forwarded to the Wyoming attorney general’s office for review and then to the governor for final approval.

The ERC was established by the Wyoming State Legislature in 2006. Made up of representatives of industry, state government and academia, the council provides direction to SER priorities for research and outreach.

Interested members of the public wishing to listen in on the meeting can request access to the Zoom link by emailing Christine Reed at christine.reed@uwyo.edu.
