The School of Energy Resources (SER) is pleased to announce the graduates for fall 2024.
The winter commencement ceremony will acknowledge the achievements of students completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Energy Resource Management and Development (ERMD), a certificate in Land Administration, and a minor in Energy Resource Management ERM).
Stratton Kohr of Gillette, Wyo. will graduate with his ERMD degree with a concentration in Professional Land Management (PLM). Growing up with an appreciation for the oil and gas industry, Kohr excelled in SER’s interdisciplinary degree program designed to meet the needs of the energy industry. During his time in the program, he interned with ConocoPhillips as a Land Negotiator in the Permian Basin where he focused on work in Delaware Basin. He was also a student athlete, competing on the University of Wyoming rodeo team where he specialized in calf roping. Following graduation, Kohr will be heading back to ConocoPhillips in a full-time capacity working as a Surface Land Negotiator in Kenedy, Tex.
Meanwhile, Hallie Jette of Buffalo, Wyo., will be picking up her certificate in Land Administration. Jette, complements her ERMD degree with a concentration in Energy and Environmental Systems (EES), to bolster her credentials and create additional job opportunities for herself.
Finally, Sasha Putnam of Wheatland, Wyo. will be graduating with a minor in ERM. The minor allows students in other academic programs to gain interdisciplinary training in energy, expanding their career opportunities. Putnam will be earning a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
“We are so excited for this group of students to embark on their future careers in energy,” says SER Academic Director Kami Danaei. “We are also pleased to see such successful outcomes from our program. Seeing students secure such incredible jobs, or take one or two additional courses to earn a new credential from within our degree program, or in other programs around campus, just goes to show the value of energy-focused education at the University of Wyoming.”
