The University of Wyoming (UW) School of Energy Resources (SER) is the recipient of a key gift dedicated to support student success in educational or enrichment opportunities inside and outside the classroom.

The newly established J. Todd and Morgan Creeger Enrichment Fund in the School of Energy Resources will support student scholarships and hands-on learning experiences, including research opportunities, conference participation, study abroad, and conference-related expenses.

SER offers a multidisciplinary academic program designed to bridge the gap between technical expertise and industry leadership. By integrating energy, business, law, and policy, SER prepares students to navigate the complexities of modern resource management. Key offerings include a B.S. in Energy Resource Management, with specialized concentrations in Professional Land Management and Energy and Environmental Systems, alongside targeted certificates in emerging fields such as Nuclear Energy Science and Subsurface Energy. Through a strategic partnership with the UW College of Law, SER also provides an accelerated 3+3 pathway, streamlining the transition from undergraduate study to legal practice.

“We are incredibly grateful to Todd and Morgan for their extraordinary vision and generosity,” says SER Acting Executive Director Scott Quillinan. “The J. Todd and Morgan Creeger Enrichment Fund is a transformative investment in our students. First and foremost, it will expand scholarship opportunities for Wyoming students pursuing energy-related studies, while still maintaining flexibility to support experiences beyond the classroom, everything from research to international study abroad opportunities. This endowment helps ensures our students have the technical expertise and broad perspectives necessary to lead anywhere on the map.”

The Creeger’s bring decades of experience in the global energy industry to their philanthropic efforts, including long and successful careers at ConocoPhillips. Their professional journeys have taken them from domestic operations to the forefront of global energy production.

J. Todd Creeger is a veteran executive with a 37-year career at ConocoPhillips, most recently serving as President of the Qatar Business Unit. A Petroleum Engineering graduate of Texas A&M, he played a pivotal role in the North Field Expansion, one of the world’s most significant liquefied natural gas (LNG) developments.

Morgan Creeger, a graduate of the University of Wyoming with a B.S. in Finance, built her professional foundation within ConocoPhillips’ global operations. Her work in finance provided her insight into the economic drivers and corporate intricacies of the energy sector.

Now retired, the Creegers share their time between Thayne, Wyo., and Houston, Tex., and focus their efforts on bridging the intersection of energy, business, and community. Through their philanthropic initiatives, they remain dedicated to fostering economic development and supporting the next generation of industry leaders.

“We are thrilled that Morgan and Todd are able to support something that both honors their Wyoming roots and aligns with their interests in both the energy and business sectors,” says Kami Danaei, SER Senior Assistant Dean. “Their journey from the University of Wyoming to the top tiers of international energy leadership is a powerful example for our students, and their generosity will allow our students to explore the full breadth of the energy landscape.”
