Professor Dave Williams is Professor of Isotope Ecology in the Departments of Botany and Ecosystem Science and Management at the University of Wyoming. He earned his PhD in Botany at Washington State University, completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Utah, and then moved through the faculty ranks to Associate Professor at The University of Arizona before moving to Wyoming in 2004.
He is founder and faculty director of the University of Wyoming Stable Isotope Facility and served as Chair of the Department of Botany at Wyoming from 2013-2019. He is passionate about the ecology and biogeochemistry of dryland systems which he has studied with his students, postdocs, and collaborators for over 35 years. He has authored and co-authored over 150 journal articles, book chapters, and major reports on the subject.
