Welcome back to a new school year! As teachers across Wyoming settle into their classrooms, the SMTC team is excited to begin another year of learning, collaboration, and partnership with educators and communities across the state. In this issue, we invite you to meet the SMTC team, learn about the newest TRKE cohort and the work they are beginning together, and explore a new publication that demonstrates how collaboration between teachers and researchers can bring Wyoming data and real-world science into the classroom. We look forward to supporting you throughout the school year and finding new ways to learn and work together.

This month, I invite you to explore opportunities to connect, collaborate, and learn alongside educators, researchers, and community partners across Wyoming. From applying to the next TRKE cohort to joining us for the upcoming showcase in Lander, there are many ways to engage with this work and bring Wyoming-based data and experiences into your teaching. You will also find a recent podcast conversation focused on STEM learning in early childhood. I hope you will read on and find ways to connect with us this spring.

As we head into spring, I am reminded how fortunate we are to work alongside such dedicated and inspiring educators across Wyoming and beyond. This month, we are excited to share our 2025 Impact Report, highlighting what we accomplished. We are also happy to share SMTC resource guides designed to support standards-aligned educational resources. Finally, we are proud to spotlight Ashley De Leon and her thoughtful Plan B project work. Thank you for being part of this community. We are lucky to partner with amazing teachers who continue to make a difference every day.

As we move into November, I want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who supported the SMTC during the University of Wyoming’s Give Day. Because of your generosity, we surpassed our goal, raising over $11,000 from 45+ donors to strengthen STEM education in Wyoming. These gifts help provide professional learning opportunities for teachers to grow as leaders in science and mathematics education. This month’s newsletter features new classroom resources and upcoming opportunities designed to support and inspire educators across the state. Thank you for being part of our community and for helping us continue to make a difference for teachers and students in Wyoming.

This fall has been full of activity as our team teaches graduate courses and supports teachers through STEM professional learning. In this issue, you’ll find highlights about our participation in UW Give Day, the Building Thinking Classroom book study opportunity, and a showcase of our STEM STRONG professional development.
