UNIVERSITY OF WYOMING MASTER’S SOCIAL WORK PROGRAM
ASSESSMENT OF STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES
ADVANCED GENERALIST PROGRAM
LARAMIE CAMPUS/HYBRID DELIVERY
SEPTEMBER 2017-MAY 2018
Form AS 4 (M)
The University of Wyoming’s Division of Social Work program benchmark for the MSW Foundation Generalist Practice sequence is that at least 85% of students will meet the competency benchmark of 3 (on a 4-point scale of competence demonstration) on a Field Instructor Rating of Student Degree of Mastery of Competencies. For the 2017/2018 academic year, the Field Instructor Rating of Student Degree of Mastery of Competencies and Associated Indicators for MSW Foundation Students was the only measurement obtained. Beginning in May, 2019, foundation generalist students will complete the FCAI (Foundation Curriculum Assessment Instrument). Adding that measurement tool will allow us to have two points of measurement for foundation students for 2018-19 academic year
For Advanced Generalist Practice at least 85% of students will meet the competency benchmark of 3 (on a 4-point scale of competence demonstration) on a Field Instructor Rating of Student Degree of Mastery of Competencies and 1 (on a 2-point scale of competence demonstration) on the Capstone Course Measurement instrument. The aggregate of the two outcome measure scores (Field Instructor Assessment and Capstone Course Measurement) were used to indicate each competency attainment.
