Family Weekend

October 17-18, 2026

Each year Family Weekend, hosted by the Student Success and Graduation Hub, offers families an opportunity to share in the University of Wyoming experience and spend time with their UW student. Parents, grandparents, siblings, and other family members of currently enrolled UW students are invited to visit the UW-Laramie campus for an event-packed, memory-making weekend! See you this fall!

What to Expect

Join us for the marquee Family Weekend events -- the Family Weekend Tailgate at the football game Oct. 17 and the Family Weekend Brunch on Oct. 18. Enjoy good company and good food at the tailgate party, cheer on the Pokes, before attending the brunch on Sunday, where students will be eligible to win some BIG drawings! The full event schedule will be available upon registration.

Family Weekend Awards and Prizes

Parent of the Year Award

Student Success is proud to recognize the Parent of the Year awardee during Family Weekend. Nominees for this award are submitted by UW students who want to share how great their parent(s) or guardian(s) are. To be eligible, students must fill out and submit the Parent of the Year form (Coming soon!) explaining why you're family member is deserving.

Drawings and Prizes

Family Weekend offers great drawings and prizes at the Family Weekend Brunch, which has included free spring semester tuition at the in-state undergraduate rate, swag, and other great winnings in past years! Winners must be present at the brunch to receive the prize! An updated list of prizes will be provided closer to the event.
