About the M.S. in Nursing
The online M.S. program provides transformational learning experiences including discussion
boards, group work and cross-program learning experiences. You’ll also complete a
leadership project in the final semester at a healthcare facility.
This program is for nurses aspiring to be educators or leaders in academic or health
settings. It does not lead to professional licensure. Eligibility requires a BSN and
RN licensure or eligibility.
The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, the master's degree program and the Doctor
of Nursing Practice program at the University of Wyoming Fay W. Whitney School of
Nursing are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street, NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791 or 202-887-8476.

The School of Nursing at the University of Wyoming has a lengthy history of accreditation.
Along with the minimum requirements for graduate admissions, MS program admission
requires successful completion of a college statistics course, successful completion
of a BSN degree from an accredited institution and an unencumbered RN license. For
the final semester practicum, RN licensure is needed in the state where the practicum
will take place. Applicants must pass a background check and drug screen.
The GRE is NOT required for admission to the MS Program.

“I’ve been most surprised about the connections I’ve made with peers in the MS program as well as instructors. ‘Surprising’ because it is an online program but often feels like we are all in a classroom together exchanging thoughts and ideas."
