Construction Report for April 16 - 22, 2021


**Water Main Break (4/13/21) - The Engineering Building is currently without water due to a water main break. Crews are working on restoring serivce;estimated restoration time is Thursday morning (4/15/21). Sorry for the inconvenience!

Ag C Addition & Old Ag (UW Operations) – Plumbing shop will be replacing and upgrading the restroom lavatories and faucets in the Old Ag area, and in the Ag C addition. Work will be starting the week of February 8th lasting for several weeks, various restrooms will be temporary shutdown for use from time to time while upgrades are being done. Please use facilities on another floor if possible. Sorry for the inconvenience, while the work being done.

College of Business Student Success Center (GE Johnson Construction Wyoming LLC, Jackson; Spring 2021) – Renovations of the College of Business Student Success Center, entire first floor of the west wing, are underway and will continue into Spring 2021. Construction in the breezeway is expected to continue into summer 2021.The restrooms and elevator in this area will remain open to the public over the course of construction. Please use caution around crews and equipment.

Corbett Building Renovation (Shepard Construction, Inc., Rawlins, WY; Fall 2021) – Contractor will begin setting up trailers and staging area on the south side of the building.  Please use caution around construction activities.

Early Care & Education Center (Six Point Solutions, Winter 2021) – Exterior Improvements – Door canopies are to be constructed in March on the southeast and southwest sides of the building.  Please use caution around construction activities.

Fieldhouse (UW Operations) - Level 2 south corridor ceiling refinish is complete and both stairs are open. Temporary lights will be continued to be utilized until final lights are installed.

High Bay Research Facility (Six Point Solutions, Summer, 2021) - East Storage Yard – Reconfiguration of the east storage yard, including installation of a small storage building and associated landscaping, will occur through the summer of 2021.  Please use caution around construction activities.

McIntyre Hall (TKE, April 2021) - Repairs will be made to Elevator #1 to bring it back into service. This work will not affect the remaining two elevators in the building which will continue to operate and be available. Please use caution around crews and equipment.

Petro Engineering (UW Operations) – Work has begun and expected to last several weeks with the Plumbing shop along with Structural & Mason shops will be building a chase wall w/ new piping for two new wall hung sinks /faucets and new tile to make upgrades to the 2nd floor men’s restroom. Please excuse our mess and be careful when using the restroom as it will still be function able for use during the construction.

Physical Sciences (UW Pumbers; Spring through Fall, 2021) - Faucets in Labs throughout the Physical Sciences building are being upgraded. Those affected by specific Lab closure will be notified in advance.  Please excuse our mess and any inconvenience this may cause.

Science Initiative Building (SI) (Construction manager GE Johnson Construction Wyoming LLC, Jackson; Spring 2022) – 10th St. and both north / south sidewalks between Lewis and Bradley will be 100% closed for the duration of the project. The ADA spots have been relocated to the south west corner of the ENZI building. Lewis St. from 9th to 11th St. will be one-way EASTBOUND for through the end of April, 2021. The north half of Lewis St. between 9th and 10th St. will remain closed through the end of April, 2021. A transition to mass site clearing and landscape work is scheduled to start the 3rd week in April which will modify the secure site perimeter and limit access to the Lewis St. section between 9th and 10th Streets, and 10th Street between Bradley and Lewis Streets.  Please review the site logistics plan for any questions. Please continue to observe all traffic control signs, restricted areas, and one-way requirements.

West Campus Satellite Energy Plant (WCSEP) (Construction manager GE Johnson Construction Wyoming LLC, Jackson; Summer 2021) – Work on the ramp between Engineering and Ag is in progress. The scope of work requires demolition and mass excavation so it will be hazardous and likely very loud at times. If required we’ll coordinate temporary building closures during off hours to the extent possible. The goal is to maintain 1 ADA access route into both buildings during the project life cycle. Access to Lewis St. from Prexy’s is available via the ramp between EIC and Engineering, detour signage is in place. The EIC elevator is available if required. The end result of this project will include a new ADA path to Prexy’s with new landscaping and hardscapes. This path and route will not be fully restored until late summer at the earliest. Please note the relocation of the building dumpsters. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this scope of work. (Phase 4 Logistics Plan)

Wyo Hall Deconstruction and Utility project (Construction manage Haselden Construction, Laramie, WY; Summer 2021) - 15th Street Water Line utility work on the Wyoming Hall Project: The first phase of work is scheduled for: 4/19/21 Thru 5/17/21 (The Closure of 15th will be in multiple phases thru out the summer. This is the initial closure of 15th Street Phasing . 15th will be closed thru 10/31/2021) Limited University Traffic is all that will be allowed until complete.



Knight Hall/ Southwest entrance, Planter Box Restoration (UW Operations, Equipment Services) - Beginning 11/1/2020 Equipment Services will be restoring the stone planter boxes by the Wyoming Public Radio Station entrance. Please use caution near work areas, crews, and equipment. This project is substantially completed. Final Tuck pointing will resume in the spring.

Ross Hall (Colorado Hazard Control) – Ross Hall is currently undergoing floor repairs, cleaning, waxing, abatement and flooring replacements on first, second and third floors. Please be cautious in these areas.
