An anonymous donor has committed $25,000 to establish the WGA Endowment at the university of Wyoming Foundation. The WGA will respect the request for anonymity.
The goal is to build a million dollar fund to support the mission of the WGA. All donations and interest will grow until the endowment reaches its one million dollar goal.
The interest then will be used for instructional materials for Wyoming teachers, support of the National Geographic Giant Traveling Maps, teacher workshops, and institutes on geographic topics.
To support the WGA Endowment, please make a secure gift online here (under designations, please type in Wyoming Geographic Alliance in the space provided). Or if you prefer to make a payment on the phone you can call the University of Wyoming Foundation during normal business hours at (307) 766-6300 or (888) 831-7795. As a member of WGA, can you can support us by helping spread the word about the importance of geographic education in Wyoming. Every year we put on professional development activites for teachers around the state, give presentations at education conferences, and deliver giant maps and other geographic activities to schools around the state.
In 2012, Major General Ed Wright was recognized in a ceremony as a friend of the WGA for his outstanding support of geographic education in Wyoming through his help with funding the giant traveling maps and organizing members of the Wyoming National Guard to help deliver giant maps to several schools.
