Equality State Research Network

The Equality State Research Network (ESRN) is a statewide network committed to engaging in community-based research to improve the overall health of Wyoming residents. The ESRN incorporates community engagement, quality improvement, and scientific inquiry. This network of partners may include, but is not limited to: primary healthcare practices, child development centers, school-based providers, specialty care, and other community professionals. These groups work with the University of Wyoming, who provides the infrastructure and guidance necessary to develop research that addresses the unique needs of Wyoming’s rural and frontier communities.

Our Mission

The Equality State Research Network is a community and practice based research network that brings healthcare communities from around the state together to identify important community health and education challenges and to develop innovative research that addresses those challenges.

ESRN OVERVIEW (PDF)

Network Priorities

As a Community Based Participatory Research Network, members come together to outline the needs they see across the state and establish our research agenda.

The outlined ESRN Research Priorities are:

  • Healthcare Access

  • Mental Health Access

  • Maternal Child Health

  • Disease-specific

  • Underserved Populations

The priorities guide the next steps and future work for the ESRN, including:

  • Identifying research projects,

  • Pursuing funding that coincides with the ESRN priorities, and

  • Guiding the ESRN’s Partnership Development Awards and Pilot Awards, which annually fund ESRN members.

Outside researchers interested in working with the ESRN must fit with these research priorities.
