WYNDD’s online Data Explorer continues to get record use!  Since its launch in 2023, the WYNDD Data Explorer has been used by partners over 55,000 times to access information on Wyoming species and habitats.  Over 31,000 of these requests came between June 2024 and July 2025 alone.  Partners from all organization types are using the tool.  Private environmental consultants, and federal resource managers, are the most frequent user groups.

Updates


  • Cooperating with Wyoming Game and Fish Dept. on the revision of the State Wildlife Action Plan.
  • Confirmed presence of a new leafcutter bee, Trachusa zebrata, in Wyoming.
  • Employing six UW students as work-study assistants through fall 2025.
  • Reconfirmed presence of several rare plant species at sites where they had not been seen in >20 years.
  • Documenting the timing of fall bat migrations, September/ October 2025.
  • Cooperating with a private petroleum company to better document vegetation and insect recovery on reclaimed well sites.

Latest research, publications, & reports


WYNDD scientists design, perform, and complete many biological and informatics research projects, in cooperation with a range of state, federal, and private partners.  This work is sometimes published in scientific journals and technical reporting series, but often it is accessible only as a technical report posted by WYNDD.
