Pre-Transfer Credit Evaluation Tools

Pre-Transfer Credit Evaluation

Pre-Transfer Credit Evaluation (PreTCE) helps prospective undergraduate students plan their transfer to the University of Wyoming by offering a preliminary review of how transfer courses may apply to UW. Using unofficial transcripts, this evaluation provides an early look at potential course equivalencies to support a smoother transition. Once admitted, students must submit official transcripts to Admissions, at which point the Office of the Registrar will complete an official credit evaluation.

PreTCE is not available for international students, Joint Services (JST)/military transcripts, second bachelor’s degrees, graduate-level coursework, or students applying for readmission after a break from UW.

Transfer Course Petition

If a transferred course was applied as general credit and you believe it should meet a specific UW requirement, you may request a course petition review. Each petition requires a separate form and a detailed course syllabus so the academic department can evaluate the content. This process allows UW to determine whether your coursework aligns with a specific course or requirement.
