African American & Diaspora Studies (AADS) at the University of Wyoming (UW).
AADS is one of seven interdisciplinary programs at UW. We provide individuals with the opportunity to study African people in America and throughout the world with a focus on history, culture, media, and life from ancient times to the present day.
We offer a 21-credit minor to pair with your major. We also offer a self-designed major. In addition, many of our courses satisfy the various general education requirements needed to earn any degree.
AADS award winning faculty offer courses in a variety of subject matter from art and music to literature, history, religion, and media.
We provide a program of culturally-appropriate knowledge to help individuals enhance their understanding of the human experience, as well as fully prepare students to become engaged citizens in a global society. This website provides information about our program, mission, faculty, students, and the university. I invite you to explore our website and contact us for any further information.
Students! Stop by and visit Ross Hall 117 our newly refurbished Student Lounge where students can come study, relax, or visit with Faculty.
