The Agricultural Education curriculum provides a diversified coverage of technical and professional agricultural subjects necessary to prepare teachers of agricultural education for service in the public middle, secondary and post secondary schools.

If you are considering a career as an agriculture teacher and FFA advisor, take a look at Agricultural Education at the University of Wyoming. A strong balance of practical experience as well as theory has placed our graduates in great demand for teaching jobs in the Rocky Mountain region. A career in teaching and working with FFA members is rewarding and challenging.

The Degree of Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education is offered with choices of a concurrent major in either of the following:

Animal and Veterinary Sciences and Agricultural Education

Agricultural Business and Agricultural Education

Agricultural Communications and Agricultural Education

Rangeland Ecology and Watershed Management and Agricultural Education

Think about some of the features of our program.

  1. The teaching degree provides the opportunity to choose to work and live in an agricultural or an urban community.
  2. The broad-based curriculum plus the people-oriented and teaching skills prepares you for many jobs in agribusiness as well as teaching.
  3. The Bachelor's degree program can be completed in four years.
  4. You can transfer two years of work from a Wyoming community college without losing credits.
  5. You can earn a minor in a specific field of Agriculture.
  6. You can earn a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture plus certify to teach in one more year if desired.
