Unnatural Causes...is inequality making us sick?

Last year UW's CHAP (Community Health Advancement Program) sponsored a year-long luncheon, film and discussion series based on a PBS documentary entitled UNNATURAL CAUSES. The documentary aims to tackle the root causes of our alarming socio-economic and racial inequities in health.

The four-hour series crisscrosses the nation uncovering startling new findings that suggest there is much more to health than bad habits, health care, or unlucky genes. The social circumstances in which we are born, live and work can actually get under our skin and disrupt our physiology as much as germs and viruses.

If are a UW student, faculty or staff and are interested in streaming the series FREE, please contact CHAP Coordinator, Meghan Brown

This is a story about health, but it's not about doctors or drugs. It's about why some of us get sicker more often and die sooner in the first place.
