Tours|Art Museum

All tours are based on the artwork exhibited in the galleries or around campus as part of the ongoing Sculpture Invitational. Tours may be scheduled for any age group and are tailored to address the interests and developmental needs of participants. The Art Museum regularly provide tours for pre-school students, K-12 students, university and college students, special education classes and seniors that investigate artists’ methods, political, historical and cultural context, and more.

Groups can also take behind-the-scenes tours to see how a museum works or schedule creative investigations in the Shelton Studio, where participants have the opportunity to create their own artwork based on what they viewed and discussed during their tour.

Curricular materials and lesson plans that accompany each exhibition are available online. These materials provide teachers and other educators with activities and assignment to help engage groups before, during and after a museum visit.

For more information or to schedule a tour contact Wendy Bredehoft at (307) 766-3496 or wbredeho@uwyo.edu or Heather Bender at (307) 766-3515 or hbender1@uwyo.edu.
