Healthy Alternatives: A little  change can do you good

saladsFor many people, a reduction in fat or sugar or sodium intake is a matter of serious consequence.  In this lesson, learn how to make recipes healthier without giving up on taste.  Explore the different types of fats.  Practice and sample some recipe alterations.

 

Tips for Eating Out


A 56-year old participant was having a hard time controlling his blood pressure. His primary health care giver told him he had to watch is fat and salt intake, but he didn't know how. After participating in the Cent$ible Nutrition Program, this participant felt more confident in following his doctor's orders and controlling his own diet.  He said, "I did not know how much fat and salt were in some packaged foods. The label reading class really helped me be aware of what I eat."
