COJO Graduate Program

The University of Wyoming's Communication and Journalism (COJO) Graduate Program is the destination for students wishing to expand their education and background in communication, including interpersonal communication, journalism, public relations, rhetoric, and media studies. We have the academic environment that students need - top professors with diverse backgrounds and areas of study, many opportunities for academic involvement, and courses to expand minds and help you reach your goals. We have the social environment that students need – small graduate class sizes, strong interaction with professors, and the opportunity to know your professors and fellow students.

Our Mission...

The COJO Masters Degree program provides students with a strong background in communication and media theory, as well as a strong foundation in both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Our MA students produce theses that advance communication research, bridge communication disciplines and theories, and contribute to practical knowledge in communication. Our MA students produce Plan B’s that result in an applied communication plan or product that is ready for implementation in academic or non-academic contexts. We seek to train graduate students such that they feel confident in entering a doctoral program, a college teaching profession, or the workforce.
