State Authorization & Licensure

Division of Communication Disorders

State Authorization

***The implementation of the Higher Education Act - State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) has affected the admission of out-of-state students in speech-language pathology.  At this time, the Division of Communication Disorders will not be admitting or placing students in clinical practica in the state of Massachusetts and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. We have adopted this policy to comply with regulations in the state of Massachusetts and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. UW will update this list each spring.

As part of the SARA agreement, the University is required to notify applicants and students that the University cannot confirm whether courses or programs related to licensure meet requirements for professional licensure in states other than Wyoming.  Students are advised to directly contact the applicable licensing board to determine whether a particular course or program meets requirements for licensure in that particular state.
