The mission of the Employee Relations team is to help classified staff and their supervisors resolve employment issues in support of a harmonious work environment at UW.

• Employee Handbook: Find out the University's polices concerning employees.

• Disciplinary Procedure: Learn the steps of the University's progressive disciplinary process, from oral warnings to performance improvement plans to termination of employment.

• Staff Grievance Procedure: For when an employee feels they were subject to an action that violated University polices/rules.  

• Mediation Alternative to Grievance Procedure: May be requested to help resolve employment problems and grievable issues

• Workplace Discrimination/Harassment (UW Regulation 1-5): Resolved through the Employment Practices Office.  

• Workplace Violence/Threats (UW Regulation 1-44): Resolved through the Employment Practices Office.
