Biography

April Heaney directs the LeaRN Program and teaches courses for Fall Bridge, English, and Creative Writing programs. She is from Chicago but moved at an early age to Casper, WY, and later attended the University of Wyoming for degrees in English and Education. In her role within LeaRN, April works on building high quality courses and experiences for first-year and lower division students.

April is an avid reader, a less eager runner, and a fan of (almost) all things outdoors…especially hiking, camping, skiing, and finding fun places to walk her dog. She travels as much as possible, most recently to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Her other hobbies include creative writing (mostly non-fiction), cooking/baking, and trying to keep up with her kids. Her passion in life is teaching and knowing students, and helping open opportunities for them to find their purpose and pathway in college—and beyond!
