Festival of Voices

February 21-23, 2013 

University of Wyoming, Laramie 

The 2013 Festival of Voices promises to provide an outstanding and uplifting experience for teachers and students alike!  Let your spirit soar at the Rocky Mountain Festival of Voices.  This year’s events will once again focus on the traditional choral program and feature the following:

• Concert performance and workshop by renowned a cappella ensemble NOTA!
• A Choral Collage concert featuring UW Choral Ensembles: Singing Statesmen, Bel Canto Women’s Choir, and UW Collegiate Chorale.conducted by Dr. Nicole Lamartine and Dr. Zach Vreeman and the 2012 Outstanding Wyoming Choral Music Educator, Larry Munari
• Solo Vocal Coachings and Master Classes led by UW Voice Faculty, from which outstanding high school student singers will be selected to perform on the Grand Finale concert.  Singers should be prepared to sing solo repertoire (memorized, from the classical art song/folk song traditions).  Student soloist names can be submitted electronically through the registration process.  This can be a tremendous learning opportunity for your finest singers, as well as all festival attendees.  Substantial vocal music scholarships may be awarded to the finest singers.
• A collaborative performance by all festival participants with the UW Collegiate Chorale
• Interest sessions on improvisation, Alexander Technique, solo literature, etc.
• Choral rehearsals and performance, conducted by Dr. Nicole Lamartine, UW Director of Choral Activities, and Dr. Zach Vreeman
• Announcement of the 2013 Outstanding Wyoming Choral Music Educator Award

The cost, including lunch and dinner on Friday, as well as lunch on Saturday, and a ticket for NOTA’s performance is only $40.00 per student.  Attendees are responsible for their own lodging.  Registration Deadline: February 8, 2013!!!!  You will be invoiced for your student registrations upon successful completion of the online registration process!  Detailed registration instructions are included in this packet!
