Sigma Chi arrived at the University of Wyoming in 1930 and has never left, making it the longest-standing Fraternity on campus. Sigma Chi boasts a very diverse membership, with members involved in ASUW, Intramurals, the Interfraternity Council, Global Business Club, UW Ski Club, Honor’s Program, Iron Skull Honorary, International Students Association, UW Marching Band, ROTC, Singing Statesmen, UW Hockey, Cowboy Country Swing Club, the Wyoming Honors Organization, and more. Sigma Chi has majors ranging from Business to Engineering, and Criminal Justice to Nursing, and the brothers are involved in many major-related organizations and honoraries.
Sigma Chi is the only fraternity with an automatic scholarship program for brothers, in which those eligible receive up to $700 automatically. The chapter house also receives renovations each year courtesy of an endowment from our generous alumni. Sigma Chi is also devoted to philanthropy and community service. Yearly, we host Derby Days, a weeklong philanthropic event, benefiting the Huntsman Cancer Research Institute. Because of Derby Days, Sigma Chi was the top fundraising fraternity at UW in the 2014-2015 school year. We also work with the Big Brothers Big Sisters, hosting a pumpkin carving, sled derby, and other events with the local kids.
Sigma Chi promotes lifelong brotherhood, learning, and leadership, and we strive to become better men and more well-rounded individuals.
Sigma Chi’s core values are friendship, justice
