Students for a Sustainable Environment

Our mission is to promote social, environmental, and economic sustainability for the University of Wyoming, for the larger Laramie community, for the State of Wyoming, for the United States of America, and for our world. We goals are to:

• to provide a forum for the University of Wyoming students to interact across natural resources academic disciplines as a non-profit educational and scientific organization dedicated to advancing the science and art of natural resources and environmental science and management.

• to help develop and maintain environments that enhance local and global human health for the present and future by

  • providing educational opportunities to the campus communities on sound environmental practices,

  • promoting recycling programs through campus,

  • facilitating a gradual transition to use only solar and wind energy to supply 100% of the campus’s energy needs, and

  • endeavoring to have all new capital construction and renovations completed with high efficiency design in mind using Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards as a guide.
