Internship/Job Opportunities

We are often asked by students, "What can I do with an international studies degree?" You can read about possibilities by clicking on the link, and you can explore the internship and job postings listed here to get an idea of what you can do during your academic career at UW and post graduation.

An internship provides the opportunity to apply what has been learned in the classroom. It furthers your education by giving you a chance to gain practical experience. Many students meet people during their internships who can help them find a job or other opportunity after graduation. Also, in a foreign locale your language skills will improve.

We have put together a list of possible internships and job opportunities at organizations and agencies we think would be of interest to our students. There are many other possibilities besides the ones listed here, and you are welcome to do some research on your own.

We've also provided some guidelines for developing your application. These guidelines are based on our personal contact with internship and job coordinators.

Several of our students participate in internships each year. Our Internship Coordinator, Jeanette Reisenburg, will help you find an internship, evaluate an opportunity you have found, or help with an application packet.
