There are numerous scholarship opportunities for UW students. Wyoming residents can benefit from the Hathaway and President's Promise and Trustee's Pride scholarships. Non-residents are eligible for the Peak Achievement scholarships.
Check with the UW Financial Aid Office for general scholarship opportunities. The College of Arts and Sciences also has several scholarship opportunities. You can apply for several at one time with only one application!

International Programs (Knight Hall 248) administers the Study Abroad Program at UW and offers the Dick and Lynne Cheney Study Abroad Grant. The office also has a listing of many other scholarships for study abroad experiences.

Adam Liebman, a Master's candidate, received a National Security Education Program (NSEP), David L. Boren Fellowship for 2007-8 academic year. Adam will study Chinese language at Yunnan University in Kunming, China. While in China he will gather data for his thesis research project , the Chinese public’s attitudes and actions towards environmental issues. |
The David L. Boren's National Security Education Program (NSEP) is a unique scholarship opportunity for U.S. Undergraduates to study abroad. Created in 1991, NSEP awards scholarships to American students for study of world regions critical to U.S. interests (including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, the NIS, Latin America & the Caribbean, and the Middle East). Deadline: Feb 1, 2008.
The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi awards 50 Study Abroad grants of $1,000 each year to undergraduates who have earned no less than 30 and no more than 90 credit hours by the time of application, who have at least a 3.5 GPA, and who will return to campus for two semesters after the completion of their study abroad program. The study abroad plan should relate directly to your academic preparation, potential career choice, and commitment to the welfare of others. This award is at least $1000 annually for undergraduate students who have been accepted into an international study abroad or student exchange program. Applicants must be a full-time student at the time they apply and plan to study full-time when abroad. They must carry at least a 2.5 GPA and have completed at least 12 hours of coursework at the University of Wyoming. Applications are due June 1st for the Fall Semester and December 1st for the Spring Semester. Students need to complete the application form and provide three letters of reference (two from academic sources). Your personal letter should describe reasons for seeking financial assistance and what you hope to accomplish in the study abroad experience. Offers grants for U.S. citizen undergraduate students of limited financial means. The Gliman scholarship aims to support students who have been traditionally under-represented in study abroad, including but not limited to students with high financial need, community college students, students in under-represented fields such as the sciences and engineering, students with diverse ethnic backgrounds, and students with disabilities. http://www.iie.org//programs/gilman/index.html
Each year the Honors Program awards more than $200,000 in scholarships to students who are beginning their undergraduate education or who are entering the University as transfer students. Click here for more information.
This scholarship supports study or a project in a student’s major field at a university in another country (over 70) for one academic year.
