Hannelore Mundt received her Staatsexamen in English and Comparative Literature from the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule in Aachen and her Ph.D. in German from the University of California in Irvine. Her main area of expertise and research is 20th century German literature. Her courses in German literature and culture span from the 18th to the 21st century. Dr. Mundt also teaches film courses in the Department of English and in Gender and Women's Studies. Her publications, which have appeared in scholarly journals in the United States and Europe, focus primarily on questions of intertextuality in literature. Her latest book is Understanding Thomas Mann (University of South Carolina Press, 2004).
