Fall Issue of UWyo Magazine Shows How UW Powers Wyoming’s Workforce

The fall issue of UWyo Magazine, the University of Wyoming’s flagship publication, focuses on how UW helps power Wyoming’s workforce, highlighting alumni in the state as well as UW programs that help meet workforce needs and encourage entrepreneurship.

“These stories not only show how important the university is to the state’s communities and economy, but they also illustrate the ways in which UW and its graduates are contributing to Wyoming’s current and future economy,” says UW President Ed Seidel.

In all, the issue spotlights nearly 50 alumni working in the state as well as dozens of UW programs. In addition to 12 feature articles devoted to alumni and programs from UW’s various colleges, readers will enjoy profiles and news from the UW Alumni Association, plus stories on industry partnerships, giving, infographics and more.

In a piece on the indoor vertical farming company Plenty, which is creating many new jobs in Wyoming, alumnus Casey Seals says, “I am honored to have received my formal education from UW and have applied those learnings to become a part of an agricultural revolution that will enhance how we feed future world populations with fresh nutritious produce.”

“Being at UW connected me with the right people. I was able to meet with potential employers and make connections that I wouldn’t have otherwise, which led me to where I am today,” says fellow alumna Melanie Urwiller, a certified public accountant with Lenhart, Mason & Associates LLC in her hometown of Casper.
