UW’s EORI Seeks Proposals for Collaborative Projects

The University of Wyoming’s Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute (EORI) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for collaborative project work with operators of Wyoming fields.

Through this RFP, EORI will provide financial and technical support for implementation of new, pilot-scale improved oil recovery (IOR) processes and technologies in Cretaceous, Permian, Pennsylvanian and Mississippian sandstone reservoirs.

For purposes of this RFP, IOR refers to processes focused on primary and secondary oil recovery, such as well stimulation, acidizing, conformance and sweep improvements, and clay stabilization. Examples of specific IOR processes of interest to EORI include polymer augmented flooding to overcome adverse mobility ratios and high permeability variations in reservoir layers or chemical treatments to reduce the impact of reactive clays on well injectivity.

The full RFP may be found here. Proposals will be accepted until Dec. 15, with the final project selection Jan. 31.

Those with questions or needing more information regarding this solicitation should email Eric Robertson at eric.robertson@uwyo.edu with “IOR Field Pilot” in the subject line.

EORI’s mission and focus are to facilitate meaningful, measurable and economically viable solutions to increase recoverable reserves and production of oil and natural gas in Wyoming that otherwise may not be realized.
