Volunteers Needed for State High School FBLA Conference March 13-15 at UW

More than 500 students representing 31 high schools will be on the University of Wyoming campus Wednesday-Friday, March 13-15, for the Wyoming Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference.

Wyoming FBLA, in collaboration with the UW College of Business, is seeking volunteers to help facilitate the event and to aid Wyoming’s high school students as they embark on a journey of discovery, education and leadership development.

Wyoming FBLA, composed of approximately 700 members and 38 chapters statewide, is dedicated to guiding students toward a “future filled with possibility,” says Jake Dalman, assistant director of the Peter M. and Paula Green Johnson Student Success Center in the UW College of Business.

“We are thrilled to welcome our Wyoming Future Business Leaders of America back to Laramie for the 2024 State Leadership Conference. Being an alum of FBLA, I understand the significance of this event extends far beyond mere competition,” Dalman says. “It is about forging invaluable connections, facilitating personal and professional growth, and uncovering the vast potential residing within every participant.”

The conference provides valuable skills and insights for the participants, allowing them to make informed decisions about their future endeavors.

“Professionals in business and education are invited to play a crucial role in shaping these young minds by getting involved in various capacities, such as judging, volunteering, sponsoring, exhibiting and conducting workshops,” Dalman says.

Business professionals interested in volunteering in different areas can find more information in the following categories: judging, volunteering, sponsoring, exhibitions and workshop proposals.

Schools that will attend the Wyoming FBLA State Leadership Conference are Big Horn High School; Buffalo High School; Burns Senior High School; Campbell County High School; Cheyenne East High School; Cheyenne South High School; Cody High School; Douglas High School; Farson-Eden High School; Glenrock High School; Greybull High School; Guernsey-Sunrise High School; Hanna-Elk Mountain High School; Lander Valley High School; and Lingle-Fort Laramie High School.
