BRAND applicants must hold a bachelor's degree and meet School of Nursing requirements, including prerequisite coursework, a minimum 2.75 GPA, active CNA certification or LPN licensure and current CPR/BLS certification. If you've completed coursework elsewhere, your credits will be reviewed as part of the application process.

Yes. You may apply with prerequisite courses in progress. However, applicants who have completed their prerequisite coursework and have their CNA certification by the application deadline receive preference. Completing the requirements does not guarantee admission.
Most prerequisite courses do not have an expiration date. However, PHCY 3450 (Foundational Pathophysiology) and PHCY 4470 (Fundamentals of Pharmacology) must be completed within three years of the May start date.
UW may accept some Pathogenic Microbiology and General Microbiology courses as equivalents to Medical Microbiology. If you're unsure whether a course will transfer, contact BRAND to request a transcript evaluation before enrolling.
Yes. BRAND requires an active CNA certification or LPN license because students begin the program with foundational nursing skills. CNA certification must be on file by May 1 and remain active throughout the program.
Yes. UW accepts CNA certifications from any state.
No. Wyoming History does not need to be completed before applying to BRAND, but it must be completed before graduation. Students can take the course through UW or Laramie County Community College online.
BRAND includes required in-person experiences, so students must be able to travel to Wyoming. Clinical experiences take place at locations throughout the state, and students should plan for the travel and flexibility required by their clinical assignments.
No. BRAND does not maintain a waiting list. Students who are not selected may apply again during a future application cycle.
