Research in the Ogle Lab focuses on plant physiological and ecosystem ecology. Our group is interested in understanding how plant functional traits and plant-soil processes govern ecosystem and community dynamics. Our research is motivated by the need to develop a better predictive understanding of how climate change factors will affect terrestrial systems. We take a highly integrative approach that merges mathematical, statistical, and simulation modeling, large datasets, and field experiments to develop a mechanistic understanding of the processes that regulate plant, ecosystem, and community dynamics.
