University of Wyoming

Media Relations has two functions
to communicate the good news about UW and to get out the university's perspective when there are questions about our programs and policies.

How can I submit news or events?

To submit a news tip or public notice, submit your information to one of our Media Relations staff (Jayme George, Jim Kearns, Milton Ontiveroz) or use the online article submission form. For events, we recommend contacting us two weeks before the start date.

What do I include?

Use the traditional journalistic formula: who, what, where, when, why, and how. In the case of admission or registration fees, stipends, or grant money, include the amount. Information will be put into news release format and distributed to the most appropriate media outlets. Photos are welcome. For digital images for Web publication, the resolution should be at least 72 dpi. For print, resolution should be 300 dpi.

How else can I promote my event through the university?

Information on upcoming events should be posted on our monthly Calendar of Events, which is distributed on campus, to media throughout the state, and to area motels. To make a submission, visit calendar.uwyo.edu/uw/addevent.asp, call 766-2378, or e-mail mediarel@uwyo.edu.
