Media Relations has two functions—
to communicate the good news about UW and to get out the university's perspective when there are questions about our programs and policies. Our services are free to UW faculty, staff, and students.

University news Web site

The UW news Web site, managed by Media Relations, displays current news releases produced by the department and is updated daily. News categories on the page can include Top Stories, Campus Announcements, Students in the News, University Events, Public Events, and Featured Columns. The page also offers a search option to look through Media Relations archives for information no longer linked to the main page. The news Web site also features a photo of the day that links from the university homepage. The photo is updated daily Monday through Friday. For the latest UW news each day, subscribe to our daily electronic newsletter.
