Athletic Trainer Helping A Student Athlete

About Athletic Training Services at Half Acre

  • Masks are required in the Athletic Training Room.

  • Appointments are required for all Athletic Training visits. (In person and telehealth are both available).

Athletic training services are available to ALL students regardless of the number of credit hours enrolled during Wellness Center Hours.

Campus Recreation employs a full-time nationally certified and state licensed Athletic Trainer

Athletic Trainers (ATs) are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide primary care, injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergent care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Athletic trainers work under the direction of a physician as prescribed by state licensure statutes. Learn more about Athletic Training through the National Athletic Trainers' Association.

Services include:

  • Acute injury care during Wellness Center business hours and at select club sport events

  • Injury evaluations and consultations

  • Home exercise programs for chronic injuries and/or conditions

  • Secure messaging portal to contact the AT directly

  • Telehealth options

  • Concussion baseline testing for club sport athletes

  • Concussion evaluation and management for any student, in conjunction with the sports medicine physician at Student Health

  • On-site medical coverage for high-risk club sport home competitions

How to Make an Appointment

In Person Athletic Training Visits

We are now offering in person visits for Athletic Training! If you would like to make an appointment to visit with our Athletic Trainer, please call the Wellness Center at 307-766-WELL(9355).

Telehealth Athletic Training Visits

We will continue to offer Telehealth Visits for those who would like to contact the Athletic Trainer via technology.


Here is what to expect once you have booked your appointment:

  • You will receive a confirmation email from the Wellness Center.

  • As soon as you have been added to Healthy Roster, you will get an email inviting you to the platform.

    • This is optional

    • If you have already been added to Healthy Roster, you will not get another invitation

  • You will receive another email from Healthy Roster requesting a signature on the document titled "Informed consent for Telehealth Services". This must be completed before a visit can occur.

    • If you have previously signed this document, you will not get this email. This document only needs to be signed once.

  • Once your appointment has been scheduled, and your consent form has been signed, you will receive an email from Healthy Roster with a link to a secure visit. At your appointment time, just use the link to connect.
