The Wyoming Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit is supported by the University of Wyoming, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, the U.S. Geological Survey and the Wildlife Management Institute. The three permanent unit staff members serve as full faculty in the Department of Zoology and Physiology.
The Unit conducts research on many types of fish and wildlife issues. A primary emphasis is on evaluating the ecology and management of fish and wildlife in the northern Rocky Mountain region. Much of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department's field research is conducted through the Unit. Both students hired as technicians as well as graduate assistants are involved in Unit research.
